2010 NCR MACCHIA NERA Concept

MACCHIA NERA Concept

UA bike built with a singular focus - power and light weight. Achieved with extensive use
of Poggipolini's titanium artistry and with his highest know-how from the F1, MotoGP and aerospace technology and experience (since 1950).
Macchia Nera. Italian for “Black Spot.”
Curious name for a bespoke motorcycle. Definitely unique, the Macchia Nera bears little resemblance to the custom bikes we frequently see.

How unique? Here’s how the plan unfolded. Stefano called on his good friend, Aldo Drudi the famed Italian designer.

“Il Signore Drudi” was given freedom to create a fresh and aggressive design.

185 HP, 135 Kgs. Road rage has met its soul mate.

Aldo Drudi design, captured in carbon fiber and titanium.

Starting from the Ducati Hypermotard concept bike, NCR introduces it's first street! By using it's racing and technology knowledge, NCR has worked every aspect and component of the design to make a difference on the track and street. Attention to detail is important at NCR and was fundamental in developing it's first street legal motorcycle. Some of the main highlights of the NCR Hyperleggera are:
- Main frame and sub-frame built with Grade 9 titanium. The main frame weighs only 4.8 kg (10.6 lbs) and the sub-frame weighs only 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs).
- The exclusive suspension components were developed in close collaboration with Ohlins in order to deliver highly functional and adjustable components.
- NCR also worked closely with Brembo Racing in order to deliver extraordinary monoblock calipers that improves the brake power
- Carbon fiber wheels from BST carry the light weight theme that is synonymous with NCR
- NCR adjustable triple clamps produced from billet in avional provide the needed adjustability to adjust for offset
- NCR billet in avional fork bottoms, gas cap, rear sets and even titanium pegs and passengers peg holders and so on...

This attention to detail results in a street legal motorcycle that is hyperLIGHT, hyperFUN and hyperCOMPETITIVE.

Now imagine more NCR magic with the new NCR Corse 1200cc race engine with 132 hp and further driving down the weight to 135 kg (297 lbs). How is that for exclusivity and passion?

2010 NCR 848

The NCR 848 is the result of a collaboration Ducati North America.
This year, NCR was the official factory team of Dcati North America to compete in the PARTS CANADA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP in the THUNDER Class.
The team had two NCR 848's that were developed specifically to develop the full catalog of parts for this exciting new bike.

The bikes were ridden by NCR Factory rider Valter Bartolini and Canadian Andrew Nelson. Between the two riders, they won all 7 rounds of the championship including all 7 pole positions and all new track records at every track (4 wins for Valter and 3 wins for Andrew). For more info, see www.cdnsuperbike.com, www.ncrcorse.com

The championship was contested across various tracks across Canada ranging from Calgary, Calabogie, Mosport, Shannonville and Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The championship was hotly contested by oficial teams from Buell (1125R), BMW (HP2), KTM (Superduke 990) and other private teams.

This impressive result was made possible by the vast development of special parts for the Ducati 848 and 1098. The performance, handling and mapping was continuously adapted to the ever changing requirements of the series.

The NCR 848 developed into a true race bike with exceptional power delivery and handling making it a class leading package to be chased. Regardless of your race aspirations, NCR has developed a complete package to be used for racing or for casual track days. So you can choose a complete turn key solution from NCR or customize your own 848, 1098 or 1098R with unlimited solutions from NCR.

2010 NCR New Blue

NCR NEW BLUE

A project developed jointly with Ducati North America upon their request. This bike is a limited edition, to be used on tracks only, and it is a homage to Cook Neilson's 1977 Daytona victory on a Ducati 750SS, known as OLD BLUE, tuned by Phil Schilling. This was the first victory for an Italian brand in the USA, and therefore a huge boost for that market.

The platform is the new Ducati Sport 1000S 07, completely tuned by NCR and made lighter in all its parts, reaching a weight of 150 kg compared to the 188 kg of the street legal model (that is a weight reduction of 38 kg, or over 25%), and the power has been increased by 40% reaching 116 HP. The engine is the new 1100NCR, components and braking system are of racing origin: everything is made in Ohlins, Brembo and Poggipolini Titanium. The exhaust system is an extraordinary titanium 2-1-2, weighing 4 kg.
The bike will be sold “ready to race”

NCR offers an ample catalogue of parts and special works for those who want to tune Ducati Sportclassic
models, available on the new website www.ncrfactory.com.

The technology employed by NCR relies on new prototyping technology. For example, in the development of the NEW BLUE model, many parts were made using rapid prototyping technology used by NCR/POGGIPOLINI GROUP, which allows to test every component directly from 3D CAD to a functional part using sintered powder. This process eliminates final errors, thus guaranteeing maximum precision, fit and functionality.

2010 NCR Mike Hailwood TT

NCR and Mike Hailwood have written one of the most exciting pages of motorcycling history.

In 1974, Mike Hailwood had a terrible and almost career ending accident in Germany.

At Silverstone in 1977, Mike Hailwood met Steve Wynne from Sport Motor Cycles Ltd who let him try a new Ducati.

Hailwood recognized the potential of the Ducati 900SS so much that he decided to return to compete in the Tourist Trophy race at the Isle of Man the following year.

The Ducati 900 NCR had approximately 87 Hp, somewhat less than the purpose built TT four cylinder factory Honda ridden by Phil Read.

The race went down in the history books right from the start as Mike Hailwood set a blistering pace surpassing the favored Phil Read on his factory Honda. Mike Hailwood won the race and won the hearts of racing fans all over the world. One week later, Mike Hailwood won the race at Mallory Park.

The legendary win, one of the most famous in history, ridden by Mike Hailwood on a Ducati 900 NCR, also was Ducati's first world title.

NCR celebrates the 30th anniversary of the legendary win in 1978 : the NCR MIKE HAILWOOD* TT
